Ph.D. student 1 of 6 recipients for national fellowship

Ph.D. student Indya Walker, in the Department of Human Development and Family Studies, recently received a $10,000 mini-fellowship from the Harvard Injury Control Research Center, funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

The funding will be used on research to study the relationship between Black Americans and firearms.
Previous individuals have studied gun rights, ownership, victimization, perpetration, suicide, and police homicide.


Indya is one of six individuals to receive the award. The fellowship runs from Nov. 14, 2023, through June 30, 2024.
