The doctoral minor in Human Development and Family Studies requires 12 semester hours. Students’ advisory/dissertation committees approve the minor, and it must appear on the doctoral plan of study.

There is no formal application for the doctoral minor in HDFS. The program is available to any student enrolled in a UNCG doctoral program. HDFS courses to fulfill the minor can be found in the catalog description of the program and can be completed concurrently with the student’s doctoral program.

HDFS doctoral minor courses counting towards the student’s doctoral plan of study also count for the minor. Students declaring the HDFS doctoral minor include the courses on their departmental doctoral plan of study and notify the HDFS Graduate Program Director via email.
